About Kate

fullsizeoutput_1aeaI had the idea for The Soul Work Project back in 2012. Having attended many workshops and retreats over the years, I know for myself the value of time and space to come back to myself, to work on issues that hold me back or cause me distress, to have the opportunity to relax and feel the love and community of other souls on their own journey.

I longed for more time and space for these wonderful experiences where I felt into the depth of myself and my heart opened.  I heard this from others too…

“This is more real than so called real life”

“Why can’t the rest of life be like this?”

“I wish I could do this more often”

Over the intervening years, the vision took shape as the Soul Work Project and here we are.

My Professional Background

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist, Certified Deep Coaching Professional and a Writer.  I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist since 1999 in a variety of settings including a mental health charity, gp surgeries, a women’s centre, a hospice and in private practice.

I trained in business and personal coaching with Barefoot Coaching in 2012-13 and was subsequently invited to work for them as a facilitator and in 2015, I ran my workshop ‘Coaching from the Three Centres of Intelligence’ at their Spring Conference. Please see Testimonials page for participant feedback.

In 2014 I completed a training in Deep Coaching, a presence-based coaching approach, drawing on the wisdom of the Enneagram, a guide-map to understanding the relationship between our ego structure and the depth dimension. Please see this page for more information about the Enneagram and how I use it in coaching.  I am the first person from the UK to have completed this training.

My Spiritual Path

Many writers, teachers, therapists, clients, friends, many others have contributed to me finding myself here.  I have been a student of the Diamond Approach with the Ridhwan School since 2009.  This is a spiritual school that blends a variety of spiritual traditions with modern psychological approaches to human development and human flourishing.  I am not a trained teacher of the Diamond Approach.  However, it is a significant influence on my work.

A Bit of Personal Stuff about Me

I am 51 and live in north Hertfordshire with my two cats (not quite yet full mad cat woman status!) and my motorbike.  I love to dance, tend to my garden, spend time with cool people.  I am serial retreater and workshop attender and an expert in chilling out.
